Communications/Media Relations Intern Winter 2009 (January /February – March/April) Apply Immediately o Application Deadline: December 1 o You should receive notification by December 15 Genocide Intervention Network (GI-NET) is changing the way the United States and the international community responds to the worlds worst crime by empowering individuals and communities with the tools to prevent and stop genocide. GI-NET’s aim is to build the first permanent anti-genocide constituency. GI-NET seeks a highly motivated and independent college student or recent graduate to assist the staff with communications and media relations initiatives. Start and end dates can be negotiated. The Communications/Media Relations Intern will work with the Director of Communications to promote campaigns and materials to the media and general public. Major Responsibilities • Copyediting documents and web pages for the organization • Research key news and opinion leaders in the media • Edit op-eds written by GI-Net staff and members for placement in various print media • Draft and edit press releases for the organization
