Question by Donny W: Can army really offer me equal or better jobs than college?
I’m 19 and in college but have few credits. College seems so long, the path to graduation and getting a job seems unpredictable and unreal. I want to join the army b/c i know they will teach me discipline and all that, but do they really offer high paying and steady jobs that i wont regret after i join.

Couple of answers to this. If they have a specific area that you are interested in, computers, vehicle mechanics, weapons expert, etc. then you would learn that trade and be able to apply to civilian life quickly.
But if you want a professional career of most any kind then you need a degree.
You say “but do they really offer high paying and steady jobs
that i wont regret after i join.”
That sounds as if you mean does the Army offer high paying jobs. No.

You get paid by rank and time in service not by your MOS.
You can look up the pay charts.
The military can give you job training but once you get out having job training and a college degree is better in securing a job.
The military is steady work unless you do something stupid to get yourself kicked out. Once in the civilian world though you are just like everyone else.
You can serve in the military and go to college. There are lots of options available. You can do NG or reserves and serve part time while still going to school or look into ROTC. Just keep in mind you can deploy.

I would encourage you to stay in college. The army does provide you with a steady job, but it is a military one. For a certain period, you can be called back in to serve. I have a family friend who was in the army, got trained, then left and had a family. Now, he’s been shipped back to Iraq, leaving his family alone. He had no choice in the matter. College has less risk.

Unless you have a college dregree, I would recommend you not to go. I’ve seen many many Recruiters who push their sons into college rather than the army, b/c they will go to war. If you really are considering this decision I’ll wait another year and see what Obama does with the iraq and afghanistan war. College seems to long???/
Is either 2 for A.A or 4 for B.A/B.S. If you want discipline joing a fitness club and do some weights. The military is not for everyone,

Sure, if you call $1,300 a month , a high paying job.
because that’s the starting salary in the military.
