Is it more important to pursue a lot of internships or have a practical major?
Question by lepetitdejeuner: Is it more important to pursue a lot of internships or have a practical major?
I’m ambivalent about whether to pursue a lot of internships and study abroad or pursue a French degree. I can’t do both. If I do the internships & study abroad, I may need to pursue a social science or communications degree. The problem is, I love French and I want to pursue it, but I’ll have to give up the internships. Which sounds more important?

if you know what to say in an interview you major isn’t an issue. and i think experience will be more beneficial than a concentration. you have to show that you can do the work not just understand the concepts.

Experience is what will get you good jobs- but most also require a degree. However, once pursuing your degree a lot of colleges give you credit for internships and study abroad. You could get into some good programs with help from that college, and I’ve seen some internships say they only accept people who are pursuing a degree.
