Question by John S: How will full-time study, internships while in school, or limited work affect my SSI and SSD benefits?
My psychologist said I shouldn’t worry about losing my benefits from full-time study or internships. Do you know anyone that has had this happen to them?

Would living on campus affect my payments? Right now I live at home and my rent affects my payments.

Would driving my Dad’s car affect my payments even if I don’t legally own it.
Does my county of residence matter in addition to these things?

You’re allowed to make as certain amount of money and still recieve benifits but you have to realize that if you go over that amount you’ll have to pay them back at the end of the year. You’re allowed to work 9 months before they start tracking how much you make and making adjustments to your benifits. Living on campus might affect your benifits the only way to be sure is to ask them. Call them at their 800 number which is 800-772-1213 that number will get you to someone who can answer your question and send you information for the furture about working and your SSI and or SSD payments.
