School just isnt for me, but I’m not a bum and willing to work hard. DECENT PAY alternative/non college jobs?
Question by Felix: School just isnt for me, but I’m not a bum and willing to work hard. DECENT PAY alternative/non college jobs?
Right now, school just doesnt seem like its for me. I will work HARD on job from now until I die but school just doesnt look good in the equation for me now.
Are there any jobs/careers that offer good enough pay to survive somewhat comfortably without having to go to 4 years of college?
What are these jobs and careers?

Not that you will start out making decent money in. Instead of going to a traditional college, take a look at a vocational or trade school. Many times they will have shorter, more hands on programs that lead to well paying jobs.
With that said, you will always make more money by working with your brain that you will by working with your back. WIth the job market the way it is today, and with the thousands of unemployeed college graduates out there already looking for a decent job, you will have a hard time getting hired for anything paying over minimum wage.

You should study technical certifications. You can get good IT jobs that pay from 40K to 75K.
I have had a lot of friends get network certifications and get great jobs in less then 2 months.

If you’re into Law and Order you could become a officer. The physical requirements are only trough the Police Academy after that you’re free to live normally.
Depending on where you live you could get sponsored by a police department meaning they’ll buy you your outfit and weapon and so on. Other wise your going to have to pay for all that yourself.
Good thing is the academy often pays its attendees since police work is such a demanding field you’ll probably get hired right out of the academy.
They pay around 18$ an hour depending on where you live and how badly they need policemen. That’s the academy’s starting wage here in Albuquerque, NM. After the academy you get paid more depending on your shift and job / if your bilingual or a K9 unit and such.
Its a very good job but it has its risk. I intended on joining the police academy but I have to wait until I’m 21 years of age.
