Anyone know what college internships pay in the Northeast?
Question by Michael H: Anyone know what college internships pay in the Northeast?
I am not an intern. I am an employer and want to offer something fair, not stingy, but not too over the top to a person we selected. My research showed that for general bus admin type summer intern positions are about -10 per hour. This is for a person pursuing a 2 yr degree who has not finished it. Any info would be appreciated. Also, are they usually hourly or weekly?

At my internship a few summers ago, I was paid /hour. This was in the midwest, and was the highest I had ever seen an intership pay at my school. I figure after a few years, and in a higher cost of living area, /hour in the nourtheast should be fine. I was paid hourly, as I worked extra hours during breaks & holidays.

$8-$10 would be very good; when I was in college a few years ago, most summer internships were only for credit. Some did provide a daily stipend of $10 or so for meals.
I also had a post-grad internship with a very large, well-respected Philadelphia company that paid $7/hr. So I think your intern should be very happy with what you’re offering
