Q&A: How long to stay at unpaid internship?
Question by ThrillHouse: How long to stay at unpaid internship?
Just graduated from college and I just started a unpaid internship in the field I really wanted to enter. However, it is unpaid and my parents are going to start charging me rent in a few months. The internship coordinator said there is potential for a full time position. It is supposed to be a summer internship.
So far, everyone has been impressed with the work I have been doing and I show ambition to learn new things. I bust my butt and don’t sit on facebook or other non work related websites all day.

Congratulations on your graduation and your internship. If its only a summer internship, then it should last until the end of the summer. At that time, if they don’t offer you a paid position, I’d look for something else. At least you can put this experience on your resume.

hey if they said u’re going to have a chance to get a full time position~ It is for your best interest to stay in that place, and I mean they’re really impressed with your work too. At this moment, you can just work as an intern and look for a full time job somewhere else. There’s no point leaving the internship to only find yourself getting into another internship.
