How long could I live off of Internships alone after graduating college?
Question by Karissa: How long could I live off of Internships alone after graduating college?
I’m almost done with my Junior year of college, I’m a Mathematics major/ Computer Science minor. I believe I want a career in applied math or something that only loosely uses math (I don’t like creating proofs, I like solving problems). So, I was wondering, if after I graduate, could I live off of internship pay while I explore many career options and figure out what I want to do?

Depends upon your savings. Internships usually do not pay anything.

If it’s a paid internship than yes, if it is unpaid, well no. Most paid internships do not pay any higher than $12/hour, largely depending on what you do. If you have a good work ethic and know what you are doing when it comes to mathematics you could always land a high paying part-time job, such as part-time teaching, online teaching for a local college, or even tutoring which is known to pay prettty well.
