Practically everything you stated here is wrong. Though I am glad you want to serve in the United States Army. Most people do not join the Army because they don’t have a job, that is well established. The HS graduation rate in America is about 70% and the Army has a HS graduation rate of over 95%. We are not dumb. Most soldiers take advantage of their time in service to attend some college and then when they get out they use their GI Bill to attend college. Again, we are not dumb. No Army position doesn’t “allow a degree”. What you meant to say is that most don’t require a college degree. You can enlist in the Army as an Infantry soldier with a dozen degrees to your name. The only positions that require a college degree are those of commissioned officers.
Consider what you have written and decide if you have insulted those of us who serve…

Trae, don’t join the Army. All that is in the Army is a bunch of idiotic dumb people (NCO’s/Officers). They have no Standards. You are right the ones who join have no other way out, that is why they join. They have no education and don’t aspire to recieve one. Well……that is unless they decide to go to a sappy-poor online institution while they are serving. Which are the same ones that the officers went to. Stay a civilian and go to a good school. Don’t get me wrong though their is a few good people in the Army. Just not many. Most of them decide to ETS.
If you are hell bent to join a branch join the Air-force. You will have a lot more freedom and will be around a less amount of stupid uneducated-ghetto-trailer trash people.
If I offended any one oh well.
If I hit a nerve it is probably because I am right.
Take it how you want it.

Pretty much anything officers do, for example: pilot.

Actually, you can do any job you want with a college degree. And there’s plenty of jobs that REQUIRE one, namely, becoming a commissioned officer (they are the management in the Army.)
And you have a misconception about people joining the Army only because they are not smart enough for college. Many are smart enough for college, but can’t afford it and are looking to use the GI Bill benefits to go to college for free when they leave the Army. Others just want to dedicated a few years of their lives to serve their country before moving on to college. Many already have a college degree. Still others will move on and work in a skilled trade that doesn’t require a college degree (some of those jobs pay better than you would think!)
Anyways, now you know. So go to college and then join, or join now and go to college later. It’s your choice.
