Q&A: What are some good jobs that necessarily doesn’t require a college degree?
Question by babydoll86: What are some good jobs that necessarily doesn’t require a college degree?
I know there are some people with high paid jobs, but no educational background from a 2 or 4 yr college. Some only completed high school and go based on experience alone. I will like to know what are some jobs that don’t require college degrees, and is it possible to get good paying jobs during this time of the economy?

All jobs require some training. It’s just some good paying jobs do so through union apprenticeships, or on the job training (like commercial fishing) instead of college or trade school. Plumbers and Car Mechanics can make good money, but if your scores aren’t high enough to get into an apprenticeship, you’ll still need to do 2 years of trade school. (better than doing 4 years of college to make the same or less money) It seems those people who install solar panels are making pretty good money. Electricians don’t do badly.
A 2 year degree in Nursing will get you above 50K/year. Dental Hygene isn’t a bad route to take either. Some people do well with a 2 year diploma in Computers from a Community College. These are currently in demand jobs, and therefore pretty well compensated.

I know a couple of hair stylists who make $75,000 a year. They aren’t at high end salons, but they’re very good at what they do, so they have a lot of customers.

Many slow people go to college only to get a degree, knowing full well that the degree and an empty head is better than a full head and no degree, and many of these people end up in positions effecting the hiring of people, and the cycle is repeated. This is a conspiracy that has lead the US to its financial ruin. Therefore, if you want to get ahead without a degree, start your own business, become a tradesman like an electrician, plumber, carpenter, bricklayer, or a professional sportsman, and the military offers a decent career, where knhowledge and skill are supreme up to E-7, then politics and degrees take over. Don’t forget about becoming a farmer. They can make big-time money. Good luck to you, but I’d recommend the easy way — get a degree.
