I don’t think it is. I graduated college and I’m in an internship that isn’t any credit for school, but is an experience in another country. I’m teaching English. Not only am I teaching English but I’m learning the language of the country I’m in, Israel. I chose it hoping that maybe I could get an experience of another culture, feel what it’s like to live in another country, travel a bit, and help others and myself. I’m attempting to take the year off before I commit to graduate school. And if I do apply for any jobs, hopefully I have some edge over others. I’ve got quite a bit to talk about.. it’s a bit of culture shock and the way things are done here is very different from in the US. Pursue whatever is going to help you and give you all the more experience that you can.

Most internships are done prior to graduation during the summers of your sophmore and junior years but if you missed that, I suppose you could apply after graduation to get some basic experience. I would think that a company would rather hire you in a trainee or contract position rather an internship. Good Luck
