The Costuming Internship is a construction-based and project-oriented experience that is essential to anyone building his or her portfolio or gaining real-world experience in a costume shop. Interns work side-by-side with the Costume Shop staff and Show Designers to construct each production. They are involved in all parts of the build process from deciphering designer"s renderings to building, pulling, and altering garments. Applicants should have basic sewing skills and the ability to read and follow a pattern. Advanced sewing skills, such as pattern drafting and draping are a plus but are not required. This internship is based on a 40 hour work week and the intern receives a weekly stipend of $165 to assist with living expenses. The summer internship dates are June through the beginning of August.
