Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Special Event Intern will assist Event Planners with special projects and administrative duties as assigned – including vendor research, selection and management, assist with social media and communications – including creating media lists, pitching feature stories, writing articles for newsletters, assistance with email correspondence and organization, shadowing on venue walkthroughs and vendor meetings, assistance with on-site event set up and break down, assistance the day of the event (may be on your feet for up to 12 hours at a time on event days), walk-related mailings, pre-walk inventory and shipping labels, contact information gathering (schools, organizations, etc.) and subsequent mailings, matching gift forms, volunteer collation (sorting by availability/requested assignment), create walk binder and associated printing, DIY/Digital event material mailings, printing and assembling credential badges assembling participant bags before Walk (t-shirts, brochures, giveaways, etc.) and other special event related tasks.
