Question by srpkna: What is the best college in Georgia to attend if you are pursuing a 3d animation/modelling degree?
I live in atlanta,GA and wanted to go to a college that offers a degree in 3d animation but most of the colleges i have seen don’t have much of a campus and i want to at least go to a college with Greek chapters and different types of organizations.
what college in georgia would be best to attend in hopes of getting a good education and also a “fun” campus life?

Best answer:

Answer by R
I’ll let you figure out if these qualify in terms of campus life but they have good programs in 3D animation.

There is Savannah College which has a visual effects programs and a game development program.

http://www.scad.edu/visual-effects/index.cfm

http://www.scad.edu/interactive-design-and-game-development/

You also have AIU Buckhead with similar programs. Probably less 3D oriented for animation but less technical for game design:

http://buckhead.aiuniv.edu/degree-programs/animation-degree/

http://buckhead.aiuniv.edu/degree-programs/game-art-degree/

Hope this helps and good luck!

Question by : How do I transfer to another college for sophomore year?
This might sound strange but I am looking to transfer to a college close to home for next year. Dorm life is not for me and the houses near my school are really nasty. My question for you guys is if you went through this experience, any tips. Is it normal for someone wanting to go to a local college from dorm life? Is it harder to get into college sophomore year as a transfer student? Also, what do colleges look at for a transfer student SAT, ACT or just college grades. Any tips on how to make this process easier and to get into a local school faster. Thanks

Best answer:

Answer by Blankenship
Go talk to your transfer center on campus. They can answer most if not all of your questions.

I don’t want to have to pay for the internship and am interested in math and french. I am also interested in something similar to the World Bank and the United Nations however these internships do not apply to me. Preferably during the latter half of the summer (July-August)

Back in the 60s when we were in the vietnam war, when we drafted many men into the military, there were alot of hippy guys protesting the war. They avoided the draft by going to college.

I can see the cons of drafting college guys in the army, because they’re trying to study then they’re forced to fight.

I was looking at the Forbes 400 richest and a lot didn’t go to college or finish. So many people don’t work in the area they study. On the other hand even now after being out of college for years I am tempted to take college classes in the area I work.

Best answer:

Answer by Sophie Mo
i think those are exceptional cases. having a college degree will definitely increase your chances for the job you want…and extra classes cant hurt either. Id say go for it. Especially if your company will pay for some of it, or reimburse you. Check into that. My sister didnt work in the field she majored in but she still has a good job- some things she learned are intertwined

Question by i <3 pink: Can you list an unpaid internship as “work experience”?
I had an internship in a Congressional office for a few months, and I’m still in high school. I still needed to give a resume and all that to be accepted into the internship program, and I worked certain times during certain days of the week. I know this doesn’t really qualify as “volunteer/extracurricular activities,” so is it all right to list it as “work experience”?
I’m mainly asking for putting this on college applications.

Best answer:

Answer by Dexter
It’s important to have a excellent resume, it is worth taking the time to compose something that looks fantastic and does the job correctly. The site in the box below has loads of data on resumes and help with extra professions.

I’m still a junior in college but I’m trying to plan out life. I want to study either political science (International Affairs), Criminal Justice, business, or marketing in college when I get in. I’m confident I’ll at least get into Rutgers (Live in New Jersey) or Penn State. Do the fields I study in college matter or effect if I get into law school? I’m also planning on joining the military and Peace Corps for a short time after college, in order to give back. Will these two benefit me?

Best answer:

Answer by Danny JP
You could maybe study psychology

For instance, say you take a class in one college, how can you tell what that class would be called in a different college? For instance, maybe BIO 1004 would be BIO 1016 in a different college. How can you tell which is which?

Best answer:

Answer by Jeremy F
Send your transcripts to the school you want to transfer to and an admissions counselor will be able to tell you what credits transfer and what they qualify as. If you are in the US, you can use the websites of most state universities to see which community college credits transfer to them.

Question by Chloe: How do I acquire an internship or employment in my area of study?Wedding consultants please help?
Im currently finishing up on studies in wedding/party planning online. Im living in Maine because my mom was sick….I would like to move back to Colorado Springs and want to find an internship or employment with a wedding consultant. How do I go about doing this? Would it be professional to email and ask? I need some experience…

Best answer:

Answer by Kacky
It would not be professional to email. Plan a few weddings for free so you can build up a resume, then mail it around and ask if they would accept a job application from you. In your cover letter, say that you will call them at such-such time on such-such date, then do it. Good luck! I did a little bit of this when I was a pro wedding DJ, and we could use more professional planners here in Maine, in case you would like to stay. Those Bridezillas – and their mothers – are murder!
