It depends greatly on the internship. Some can be part time, some can be full time. You’ll need to find out the specifics from your program. However, if is part of the school curriculum, it’ll most likely be part time.

Being from Cali I can’t help too much with names of companies; however, most large companies have internships, which they list on their websites with their other employment opportunities. Just pick a company you like and I’m sure you’ll be successful. Also, a lot of times even if they don’t have an internship they’d be happy to create one and put you to work.

I’m a junior in Georgia and I did an internship last summer and really liked how it was. I’m hoping to find different internships that I could possibly do for this summer. It doesn’t have to be paid (though that would be nice).

I have a 4.0 GPA and am pretty good in school.
Volunteer opportunities are also appreciated.

Internship doesn’t have to be in Ga as long as housing is part of the program.

You could try the Bank of America Student Leaders program. It’s a paid eight week summer internship for high school juniors and seniors who are put to work at a local nonprofit organization.

I did an unpaid internship for my dad’s business about 3 years ago. I am being background checked right now and they asked for the W2/paycheck stub for this internship. I am inclined to tell them it was for my dad’s business and unpaid, but just the fact that unpaid internships are “technically” illegal here makes me a little worried. Are background check agencies usually lenient on this sort of things?

Background checks are not that powerful. They usually only check to see if you had been in prison or probation and convictions of crime. If they do anything more, they will have to call your employers or write letter to them. They cannot force a business to turn over records to them and basically they would only ask legal questions such as if you worked there. Unless your applying for a secret/security clearance job of some sought, they wouldn’t find any more than what you already told them. Point is there is no way they are going to ask a company if they illegally hired people and then do something if the company actually said yes.

In the US,
Once you are accepted they will send you info. You will have to send in a deposit for tuition-your acceptance that you will be attending that school. There will be a deadline date, and most are May 1st. You will have to send in a deposit for housing too-with a deadline date.
Worst cast – you will loose your deposits.
