Inside Sales Support Intern Position

Galaxy Desserts, Inc. Inside Sales Support Intern Position Galaxy Desserts, Inc., a fast-growing, entrepreneurial San Francisco Bay Area food company, is offering a training position for an inside sales intern. The Sales Support Intern will be trained in support protocol for our three Regional Sales Managers, our brokers, our Inside Sales Director, and our Customer Service staff. The position will provide excellent hands-on experience in many aspects of national gourmet food sales. In supporting the Regional Sales Managers, training tasks will include: Maintaining customer databases, following up on leads, distributing company materials, working with the marketing department to provide custom flyers and graphics, including building relationships with key retailers, and assisting the representatives with any additional requests. In supporting the inside sales team, training tasks will include: processing sales orders, administrative & technical support to the Inside Sales Director, and sales analysis reporting. During the holidays, the intern will train in the catalog-order department to learn drop-ship distribution. Out-of-office activities include attending in-store retail promotional activities and special events, festivals and local trade shows. We have managed an active and successful intern program here for many years. This position is open May 11, 2009, and requires a 12 month commitment. The company provides shared housing accommodations in a 6 bdrm., 4 bath home, in a lovely bayside region only 10 min. from work. We pay a monthly stipend of $700. We allow two weeks paid vacation and six paid national holidays per year. The workweek is usually 45 hours. Extra time worked for weekend or evening events can be accrued for “comp time” and taken off your regular week at another pre-approved time.

Galaxy Desserts Job Posting – Purchasing Intern Galaxy Desserts, Inc., a fast-growing, entrepreneurial San Francisco Bay Area company, is offering an internship starting January 15th, 2009. This internship is ideal for the supply-chain management candidate who seeks on-the-job experience in the gourmet food manufacturing industry. The intern will work under the supervision of the Purchasing Manager and will gain experience in A/R, A/P, Inventory purchasing & controls, G/L interface, financial reporting and analysis. Job Duties: • Prepare purchasing schedule on a weekly basis • Estimate purchase quantities according to production schedule and current inventory on-hand • Create, place, receive and invoice purchase orders • Check dairy products and certain packaging items on a daily basis • Setup new suppliers and items • Create/Update BOMs (Bills of Materials) and routes (recipes) • Enter end-of-the-month inventory counts • Edit timecards on a daily basis and prepare end-of-pay-period timesheets • Learn cost structure of company budget • Assist QA (Quality Assurance) (Approve labels, boxes, get Kosher certifications, specification sheets, nutrition facts, etc.) • Assist R&D (Research & Development) with sample requests • Assist receptionist with answering phone calls
