JPM Chase Internship Consumer Risk Modeling and Analytics – Co

Chase Bank has two openings for fall 2008 internships* within its Consumer Risk Modeling and Analytics Department located in Columbus, Ohio. The duration of internship will be for 3 months, from mid-August through mid-November, 2008.

The interns will work on research projects within the modeling group. A research project requires development and validation of predictive credit scoring models for consumer lending products such as Mortgage, Home Equity Line of Credit, Small Business and Education Loans, comparison of modeling methodologies, or risk analytics for evaluation.

Process Engineer


The Appleton Plant is seeking an intern pursuing a degree in Paper Science Engineering, Bio-based Products Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other engineering programs to support the Appleton Plant team. We are looking for a full-time student or a student has a recently graduated. The student must be available to work the remainder of the summer through the fall semester, ending in January 2009.

Appleton interns are actively involved in the day-to-day operations of an off machine coating and converting facility as a process engineer. You will work directly with and be mentored by existing process engineers or managers in the manufacturing plant. Students are expected to possess a high level of motivation, initiative and the ability to work independently. Participation in project work, daily duties, production meetings, and trials are expected. It is common for interns to work some late days, nights, weekends and approximately 40-60 hours per week in our 24/7 facility.

Students work with cutting edge coating formulation chemistry and have access to extensive R&T resources.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
• Provide manufacturing support on new products and processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve processing issues.
• Recommend and implement new product lines and processes.
• Recommend and implement changes to existing product line and processes.
• Maximize efficiencies and yields while maintaining product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Interface with customers to resolve complaints and understand and meet their needs.
• Interface with product development professionals to assist in transition from solution development to launch and beyond.
• Provide support to engineering during equipment installation and startup.
• Work with manufacturing systems manager and plant personnel to ensure a safe, high quality and efficient production environment.
• Identify opportunities for product, equipment, and process improvements.

Development Program Intern

The Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA) is a fast-growing association of patients, family members and medical professionals committed to maintaining the organization’s spirit of community and building opportunities for involvement and education. Pulmonary hypertension is a life-threatening illness described as high blood pressure in the lungs. It is a disease that knows no borders, races or social classes and affects people of all ages, although most often, it afflicts young women in the prime of their lives.

The Development Program internship offers prospective applicants the opportunity to learn the foundations of nonprofit fundraising and gain a competitive edge in the nonprofit field. Though he/she will work primarily on foundation support and the membership program, the intern will be immersed in all aspects of PHA’s Development program, including major, annual and planned giving, a monthly giving program, workplace giving programs and constituent-centered fundraising strategies.

Interns will:

• work with the Development team to draft proposals and letters of inquiry to foundations
• evaluate benefits offered to PHA members and recommending ways to enhance our membership program
• assess the success of our membership marketing plan and help create a program to spread the word about what PHA offers to our community and encourage more constituents to become members
• assist the members of our three-person Development team on all aspects of PHA’s Development program
• learn how to develop a foundation fundraising strategy, research foundation prospects, determine a foundation’s interests and find a match with an organization’s program, and help craft grant proposals and other related documents
• gain skills in reaching out to constituents and communicate with them in a way that engenders their trust and generosity
• gain basic proficiency in use of The Raisers’ Edge, the constituent database system used most commonly by nonprofit organizations in the United States
• receive a small stipend and free parking
• work 25-40 hours/week (schedule is flexible)

Credit Analyst

Gibraltar Capital Partners is currently seeking a Credit Analyst in its Bend, Oregon location.

This is an entry-level Credit Analyst position. Duties include:
• Assist principals in the origination and servicing of private equity transactions through the independent analysis and evaluation of the financial condition of deal sponsors.
• Prepare write ups and executive summaries outlining prospective deals.
• Prepare spreadsheets from business and personal tax returns and financial statement information, develop questions and draw observations from the information compiled.
• Communicate with principals to obtain additional information required to complete the evaluation.
• Independently analyze and evaluate potential deals and determine risks.
