Do you live near any pharmaceutical companies or manufacturing plants? Maybe a call to the local Chamber of Commerce would help. Check Career Builder and Yahoo’s Hot Jobs. Every school worth its salt should provide this info, too. Are there any job fairs coming up where you live/work/go to school?

Question by Brokedown: What college is best in studying for theatre arts?
Well I want to study either human behavior or acting or theater arts. What college do you think is best? Also It has to be in Canada or Ottawa, somewhere very close buy. Also if you want, you can tell me about other colleges but can you also help me find or tell me how to get one of those plans for college, like paying the gov’t back after college?

You can try the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Arts.

Algonquin College is another choice or alternative.

And for OSAP – Ontario Student Assistance Program – you would need to apply after you’ve applied to the specific college/university. The financial aid office of said college/university will give you further instructions on how to apply for a student loan.

Most Ontario post-seconday schools will require you apply through ontariocolleges.ca

Best of luck.

How do I get an internship related to economics major?

What kind of internships? Investment banks, think tanks, or somewhere else?

The econ majors at my school seem to be able to get internships with investment banks in the summer after their junior years, but usually not before then. Positions with think tanks or policy organizations are not going to be paid until you’re in a master’s program usually, but the investment banks might pay you (I’m not sure).

Other positions you might want to consider would be working for a politician, or a state or federal agency that needs some quantitative skills (if you’ve taken econometrics you would be especially valuable).

What college is the best for studying the accounting profession in the state of Michigan?

Question by tessalinn003: What college is the best for studying the accounting profession in the state of Michigan?
I am considering a college change. I have just earned my Associates at Baker College of Flint. I was wondering if there is a more credible college here in Michigan that may be recognized if I search for a job outside of the state or if I were to move further up north. I realized that most of my professors with degrees and CPA certifications have gone to the University of Michigan. Would I be seen as a more credible candidate if I went to U of M instead of Baker? Would it look bad to get my degrees (Associate and Bachelor) from two different colleges? I would appreciate professional answers.
