We are looking for remote interns with excellent communication skills who are interested in learning the music business. Duties would include internet research, phone calls, emails, and entering critical metadata information on spreadsheets and websites. Music background and familiarities with different genres of music is a plus. This is a volunteered internship for college credit.

Volunteer & Program Coordinator Intern

The Volunteer & Program Coordinator Intern will work alongside our Program Manager to develop and implement recruitment strategies to obtain 1,000+ Festival volunteers, lead outreach efforts to gain donations for the volunteer prize raffle and act as the point of contact for the Festival"s volunteer program. He/She will also collaborate with the Program Manager to create new activities and enhancements for a variety of programs at the Festival. He/She MUST be available to work the entire weekend of the Festival with other staff members. Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will learn and assist in the following areas, including, but not limited to – • Facilitate outreach efforts to schools/colleges, corporate and/or community groups • Actively organize, coordinate, and manage the recruitment of volunteers, including developing and maintaining partnerships with social, civic, and local institutions and organizations • Coordinate and lead the Volunteer Incentive Prize Raffle through donations/gifts from the local community. • Responsible for distribution of confirmation materials and point of contact for the 1,000+ Festival volunteers. • Provide data entry and other administrative responsibilities related to the volunteer program. • Provide support with program supply inventory and purchasing. • Assist with planning and implementation of special events pre/post Festival and on-site programs. • Support staff with administrative duties as needed and help with general set-up/ take-down for each event

Exhibits Coordinator Intern

Position Description: The Exhibits Coordinator Intern will assist staff in planning and production for the 2020 Celebrate Fairfax! Festival. Prior to the festival, the intern will assist in exhibitor/vendor recruitment, program development, and provide administrative support for CFI staff. He/she will assist with all communications and outreach to exhibitors/vendors for the event. Duties and Responsibilities: • Assist with the planning and implementation of the exhibitor/vendor registration process • Research and recruit exhibitors/vendors; Leverage tools and databases to manage and track leads through conversion • Organize and collect essential exhibitor/vendor information (i.e. Certificates of Insurance, additional purchases, etc.) • Collaborate with the Program Manager to develop procedures, schedules and necessary information needed for the event; • Serve as the on-site liaison for all exhibitors/vendors as well as lead the festival"s exhibit services team • Coordinate the post-event survey to exhibitors/vendors to provide data for CFI analysis. • Assist with the general event logistics and operations, such as signage, vouchers, contracts, permits, and other administrative duties. • Support staff with event setup/teardown for the festival and special events, as well as per/post-event organization of equipment and supplies.

Marketing Coordinator Intern

The Marketing Coordinator Intern will work alongside our Program Manager to plan and implement the marketing plan for the 2020 Celebrate Fairfax! Festival. He/She MUST be available to work the entire weekend of the Festival (June 5-7, 2020) with other staff members. Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will learn and assist in the following areas, including, but not limited to – • Help with the creation of the marketing campaign and monitor analytics to assess trends/ activity across social accounts. • Assist with the creating on print, radio, and other media advertising agreements and designs. • Market the event though outreach and trade deals with local bloggers. • Answer messages that come through social media in a correct and professional way, to keep the response rate high. • Contribute to website design and updating. • Research similar events to stay on trend with current marketing strategies • Provide support with event supply inventorying and purchasing. • Support staff with administrative duties as needed and help with general set-up/ take-down for each event.

Entertainment Coordinator Intern

The Entertainment Coordinator Intern will assist staff in planning and production for the 2020 Celebrate Fairfax! Festival. Prior to the event, the intern will contribute on a variety of assignments as well as providing administrative support for CFI staff. He/She will help with the assessment and selection of potential musical performers for the festival using the Reverbnation website. Duties and Responsibilities: • Listen to all potential artists" submissions on Reverbnation in a given time-frame • Analyze and rate musical quality and talent while remaining unbiased and using the guidelines provided by CFI staff • Create preliminary stage schedules based on the recommendations from the review process and collaborate with the Program Manager on the selection process for each stage. • Responsible for contacting artists to make official offers at the direction of CFI staff and provide each artist with confirmation materials prior to the event. • Provide data entry and other administrative responsibilities related to the entertainment area. • During the event, the intern will be the main contact for the performers and stage managers as well as coordinating any logistical needs. • Support staff with general setup and teardown for the festival and special events, as well as post-event organization of equipment and supplies.
