Question by ciscernosymarinho: What are jobs in the financial industry that a person in college trying to finish a degree can do?
I am in college and I need a job, like everybody does, but I don’t want to work in a store or as a clerk. I want to work in the financial industry but I don’t know what are good jobs that pay more than 15K a year. I would really like some suggestions. Thank You.

You could be a bank teller, in the financial industry they always need one, and you need to do that first unless you are overly qualified. I”m in high school and am a bank teller.

there is always telemarketing, that usually pays pretty well and if its just a summer thing you could try a golf course, they always need caddys and maitenance people to like mow lawns and stuff or if you live near a beach or lake or someplace like that there are usually beachhouses that need to be staffed.
good luck!

School just isnt for me, but I’m not a bum and willing to work hard. DECENT PAY alternative/non college jobs?

Question by Felix: School just isnt for me, but I’m not a bum and willing to work hard. DECENT PAY alternative/non college jobs?
Right now, school just doesnt seem like its for me. I will work HARD on job from now until I die but school just doesnt look good in the equation for me now.

Are there any jobs/careers that offer good enough pay to survive somewhat comfortably without having to go to 4 years of college?

What are these jobs and careers?

Answer by Jim R
Not that you will start out making decent money in. Instead of going to a traditional college, take a look at a vocational or trade school. Many times they will have shorter, more hands on programs that lead to well paying jobs.

With that said, you will always make more money by working with your brain that you will by working with your back. WIth the job market the way it is today, and with the thousands of unemployeed college graduates out there already looking for a decent job, you will have a hard time getting hired for anything paying over minimum wage.
