There were a few at mine, yes. I thought most people didn’t do internships until they were juniors and seniors, though, so that might be why there don’t seem to be as many.

Can being antisocial devastate chances for finding internships and career opportunities?

Question by xearf_09: Can being antisocial devastate chances for finding internships and career opportunities?
I realize networking is very valuable when it comes to finding internships, acquiring letters of recommendation, etc. But what if a person is somewhat awkward in social situations and doesn’t generally make a lot of relationships with the few people they do end up meeting over the course of time? Will it be hard for that person to get a job, in the long run?

You sound like me. We’re not mean people, we’re actually very friendly, just quiet and keep to ourselves. It’s going to be more difficult, I’ll tell you that much. Try to talk to people – that’s the only advice I can give.

What is the best job for a college student who has mostly morning classes, no weekend classes and in desperate need of money? It seems people are a little reluctant to hire you, believing you won’t work due to school, leave during breaks and all the reasons why NOT to hire a person with high hopes.

Q&A: How will full-time study, internships while in school, or limited work affect my SSI and SSD benefits?

Question by John S: How will full-time study, internships while in school, or limited work affect my SSI and SSD benefits?
My psychologist said I shouldn’t worry about losing my benefits from full-time study or internships. Do you know anyone that has had this happen to them?

Would living on campus affect my payments? Right now I live at home and my rent affects my payments.

Would driving my Dad’s car affect my payments even if I don’t legally own it.
Does my county of residence matter in addition to these things?

Answer by Kathryn R
You’re allowed to make as certain amount of money and still recieve benifits but you have to realize that if you go over that amount you’ll have to pay them back at the end of the year. You’re allowed to work 9 months before they start tracking how much you make and making adjustments to your benifits. Living on campus might affect your benifits the only way to be sure is to ask them. Call them at their 800 number which is 800-772-1213 that number will get you to someone who can answer your question and send you information for the furture about working and your SSI and or SSD payments.
