Where should I put internships on my resume?

Question by min: Where should I put internships on my resume?
I graduated last September and have had two jobs since then. I am applying for freelance work, and now I am wondering where to put my internships on my resume. I put those under the heading “relevant experience” with my other job experience under “work history” when I first graduated. I have heard that internships don’t count as experience though. Is it appropriate to put the internships under experience with my post-graduate jobs?

Yes, it is appropriate to put the internships in work history / work experience if they are related to the job you are currently seeking. If they are not related (in any way whatsoever), you can put it under “other experience”.

Do you usually have to move away for jobs out of college?

Question by kevin2403_2010: Do you usually have to move away for jobs out of college?
I am about to be in college, and really would like to live close to the city where I am going to school. I have family and friends in the area, and would prefer not to move far away for the first few years I am out of school. I am going to school at Florida State in Tallahassee.

When colleges place you in jobs, do they usually have recruiters from far away? How likley is it that I will get a job withing a reasonable distance from Tallahassee?

Colleges don’t place you in jobs. You need to drive your own job search. Use the resources that FSU has in their career center. They’ll list the jobs that have been sent to them by employers. Only apply to those that are in the region you want to work.

Use monster.com and other jobs boards to find jobs near Tallahassee. Use the local newspaper, network with friends, at church, with family, with professors – make sure *everyone* knows that you’re looking, and what you’re looking for.

If you want to stay near Tallahassee, I see no reason why you can’t do so.

Are there any good jobs in college?

Question by Average Canadian: Are there any good jobs in college?
Can college get you good paying jobs in a certain career?

Even great?

Best answer:

Answer by Darin C
Well it is not unheard of to get a student-job in your field of study while you are in school. I work for the EPA and we have student-scientists, business people, engineers and other students upon every floor of this building. Most government offices could not function within their budgets without the aid of student workers.

Where would be some good starting locations to look for internships?

Question by S .: Where would be some good starting locations to look for internships?
I need to start searching out photography internships, but where would be a good place to start? What states, cities, locations would be better than others?

Best answer:

Answer by cassieeeee__
It depends on your location but I would try looking at job sites such as www.seek.com.au (Australian, I don’t know other countries alternatives). There would be a greater chance of finding an internship in larger cities and since there is usually competition to get the job you could always try offering to volunteer or work for free, it is good experience and you can use it on your CV.

Good luck!
