I was looking at the Forbes 400 richest and a lot didn’t go to college or finish. So many people don’t work in the area they study. On the other hand even now after being out of college for years I am tempted to take college classes in the area I work.

Best answer:

Answer by Sophie Mo
i think those are exceptional cases. having a college degree will definitely increase your chances for the job you want…and extra classes cant hurt either. Id say go for it. Especially if your company will pay for some of it, or reimburse you. Check into that. My sister didnt work in the field she majored in but she still has a good job- some things she learned are intertwined

Question by Ewok: Does having a College education really matter in most jobs?
I know many jobs require a College education of some sort, but I think what you learn in College on the most part has nothing to do with the job you will be doing unless its something like Science or Medicine. It seems to me a big scam by State Colleges who get most of their funding from the Taxpayers and then they still charge the students!

Best answer:

Answer by eri
A college education isn’t about specific job training – that’s what technical and vocational schools are for. Having a college education means you can read, write, think, communicate, and do math at advanced levels, and that’s what employers are looking for – people with advanced basic skills who they know can put in the time and energy necessary to learn what they need to learn.

Answer by Jonathan
Yes because you usually need a degree to get in, but it’s true that a lot of the stuff you learn is useless. Also I agree that it’s a scam.

Question by la_la_love: what jobs should a college student who is studying to be a childhood education teacher have?
what jobs should a college student who is studying to be a childhood education teacher have? which types of jobs that deal with children?

Best answer:

Answer by sum_dum_bok
If you’re taking night classes, get a job as a paraprofessional in a classroom. If you’re in a state where you can substitute teach with just a HS diploma, do that for a while, even before you take classes, and open yourself up to all classrooms. if you can, decide what you really want to do within the field of education before you take all the classes. I wish I would’ve. I’d have a lot less in student loans now if I would have.

Im not college educated and I was wondering where the best jobs are in a affordable city with good pay.

Best answer:

Answer by Steph
Let me know if you find one of these or a pink unicorn, or a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow…

Seriously though…check with city, county, state and federal job boards, and take civil service exams for general/labor positions..this is your best bet. Sewer cleaner is a good one…
