I don’t want to have to pay for the internship and am interested in math and french. I am also interested in something similar to the World Bank and the United Nations however these internships do not apply to me. Preferably during the latter half of the summer (July-August)

I would definitely wear a jacket. Just wear whatever is acceptable to wear to work there. Try and take your internship seriously though, even though it’s unpaid it can get you in at the company and you can meet people in your field.

I had an internship in a Congressional office for a few months, and I’m still in high school. I still needed to give a resume and all that to be accepted into the internship program, and I worked certain times during certain days of the week. I know this doesn’t really qualify as “volunteer/extracurricular activities,” so is it all right to list it as “work experience”?
I’m mainly asking for putting this on college applications.

It’s important to have a excellent resume, it is worth taking the time to compose something that looks fantastic and does the job correctly. The site in the box below has loads of data on resumes and help with extra professions.

It would not be professional to email. Plan a few weddings for free so you can build up a resume, then mail it around and ask if they would accept a job application from you. In your cover letter, say that you will call them at such-such time on such-such date, then do it. Good luck! I did a little bit of this when I was a pro wedding DJ, and we could use more professional planners here in Maine, in case you would like to stay. Those Bridezillas – and their mothers – are murder!

It depends on your school. It probably won’t, but you *must* ask the people who make the rules.

The purpose of “community service” is to serve the community. A marketing firm merely serves the wallets of the owners and their clients. Unless they were marketing a charity…:)

This position can be either. How ever you want state it on your resume, it is both to your benefit. Do you see it more feasible to list it as a job? Not a problem. Do so. Because volunteering is a job.

Some internships are paid, some aren’t. Since they mention compensation in the ad, sounds like they do pay and what they’ll be deciding is how much.

Wait until the end of the interview, then if they haven’t brought it up, you can. Ask what the pay range would be
